Join Mimo and Me in Dubai

A TRAVEL PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP | Nov. 16-20, 2026

Join KelbyOne instructor and master of long exposure photography Mimo Meidany, and me in Dubai for an amazing photography journey that mixes the past with the future.

Dubai is a dynamic destination that blends futuristic cityscapes with world‑class hospitality, and the opportunities for creating amazing photos are limitless.

At the 2025 World Travel Tech Awards, Dubai was named the “World’s Best Smart Tourism Destination,” recognizing how the city integrates digital tools into every stage of the journey.

Tripadvisor named Dubai the No. 1 global destination in its Travellers’ Choice “Best of the Best” awards for multiple years, and it remains in the very top tier of their 2025 destination rankings as the only Middle Eastern city in the global top ten. Dubai also appears near the top of global “best cities to visit” lists produced by outlets like Forbes and other city‑ranking reports.

It’s another one of those cities where there’s an amazing shot around every corner, and while the skyscrapers are amazing, the desert is just a short drive away, as is Abu Dhabi and we’ll be visting what is perhaps the most photogenic Mosque in the world with its gleaming white marble. But this is just the beginning of an amazing experience in this city of future.

We’ll split our time between shooting on location and learning and post-processing our images in the classroom.

(Note: This workshop is limited to just 14 participants.)

What Makes Photographing in Dubai So Special:

  1. The city offers an unusually rich mix of ultramodern skyline, desert landscapes, and coastal scenery in a compact area. There are so many Iconic landmarks and instantly recognizable subjects that work beautifully for cityscapes, architectural shots, and night photography with reflections and light trails. At the same time, historic areas around Dubai Creek and Al Fahidi add textured alleyways and traditional buildings that give a very different, more atmospheric look.

  2. Dubai’s soft, hazy sunrises and dramatic sunsets, where desert dust and humidity create warm, pastel skies which flatter both skylines and dunes, make for some truly amazing images. The nearby desert—areas like Al Qudra, Big Red, and Liwa—offers sweeping dunes, strong lines, and minimal foreground clutter.

  3. Dubai is also very photography‑friendly, with lots of high viewpoints, waterfront promenades, and attractions designed with dramatic visuals in mind. Rooftop terraces make it easier to access the best vantage points. The combination of luxury hotels, beach clubs, malls, and a ton of “Instagrammable” spots means a huge variety of backdrops in one destination.

All these elements come together to make Dubai the perfect destination for photographers, and the opportunity to make your images of a lifetime in a place like no other.
