Join Mimo and Me in The Swiss Alps

A TRAVEL PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP | APRIL 16-20, 2026

Join KelbyOne instructor and master of long-exposure photography, Mimo Meidany, and me in the Swiss Alps for an unforgettable photography journey.

The Swiss Alps are a remarkable destination, combining dramatic mountain scenery with easy access for photographers. Our home base for the workshop is the ideally located town of Interlaken, Switzerland, which sits between two lakes, Thun and Brienz, with turquoise water framed by steep peaks, giving amazing views almost everywhere you look. Well‑run trains, cable cars, and boats make it easy to reach viewpoints that feel remote and wild without requiring long hikes.

Interlaken and its surrounding villages retain a charming Swiss character, adding to the appeal. Traditional chalets, alpine meadows, and small farms create a peaceful atmosphere, while the town itself has plenty of hotels, restaurants, and shops. This blend of spectacular nature, outdoor adventure, and comfortable infrastructure makes the area especially rewarding for photographers like us

We’ll split our time between shooting on location in and around the Alps and learning and post-processing our images in the classroom.

(Note: This workshop is limited to just 14 participants.)

Three reasons why the Swiss Alps rock for photographers:

  1. The Swiss Alps are awesome for photography because of their incredibly dramatic, varied landscapes. Towering peaks, glaciers, mirror‑like lakes, and deep valleys give you strong compositions almost everywhere you look, from wide panoramas to intimate detail shots. Iconic locations like Zermatt, Lauterbrunnen, and the Jungfrau region offer truly “bucket list” scenes.

  2. Light and weather in the Alps also create spectacular conditions for photography. Rapidly changing clouds, fresh snow, mist in the valleys, and golden light at sunrise and sunset can transform the same scene many times in a single day. This gives us photographers endless opportunities to capture mood, atmosphere, and unique images even from well‑known viewpoints.

  3. The Swiss Alps are highly accessible and photographer ‑friendly. Efficient trains, cable cars, and mountain lifts take you to high viewpoints without demanding hikes, so more of your time is spent shooting rather than getting there. This makes it easier for us easier to do sunrise, sunset, and night shoots in locations that would be very hard to reach in many other mountain regions.
